Psychological Types of Chinese University Students

Abstract: Methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language and the subject of education are closely connected. Due to high speed of development the society has certain demands which need to be met. Today there is need for people with good education who have knowledge of a particular sphere. The demands from the society determine the choice Chinese students make. Teachers should not only give students knowledge, but to form moral values and standards, which help them to make good specialists in future. This is how education should be organized. It is possible to single out two psychological types of students in China: 1) enthusiasts, those who like to study (they may be of two subtypes: passive and active); 2) students who don’t like to study (they may of three subtypes: “lazy but smart”, “demon” and “self-rejecting”). The paper discusses the choice of methods of teaching Russian on the basis of the type of students.
