Abstract: The paper analyzes the features of publicistic style of the Russian language, news in particular. With the help of complex analysis of the texts from Russian print media we singled out lexical, syntactical and grammatical peculiarities of translation; we describe main principles of translation, among which are the principle of authenticity and adaptation of translation and the principle of the secondary text. Universal method includes word-for-word translation, detailed translation, abridged translation, adaptation, paraphrasing etc. The author of this paper illustrates the principle of translation and the methods used with the examples from Russian press. It is underlined that the main goal of translation is understanding of the information, but at the same time, translator should be close to the original text taking into account the peculiarities of the audience translation is made for. This paper may be useful for Russian-Chinese translators to make good translation and contribute to the Russian-Chinese cultural cooperation and development of journalism.
