Abstract: The article presents the results of the research on the values of young people from 16 to 30 years of age. The group of 188 people (71 men and 117 women) took part in the research. The purpose of the study was to test the hypothesis that education is the most important priority for young people in their system of values. The research used the “Questionnaire of terminal values" by I. Senin. As a result, it has been revealed that education is the main value for today's young people. "Family life" is not the main value for today's modern youth. Our findings correspond to modern demographic data. Young people get married today much later, the first child also appears much later than in the days of their parents and grandparents. Young people, who have created a family before their graduation from the University, are at risk. The birth of a child in a student family significantly reduces the possibility of successful graduation from the institution of higher education, and consequently complicates the start of a professional career. It is shown that a well-organized social support program reduces the risks of young women with children at the beginning of their educational career.
