Developing Foreign Language Grammatical Competence of the 9-form Pupils Based on Their Psychological Age-related and Individual Characteristics (By Using the Interactive Whiteboard)

Abstract: The article reveals the problem of developing foreign language grammatical competence of the 9th form pupils of secondary school. In adolescence there are a lot of qualitative changes in all mental processes: perception, attention, imagination, memory, and thinking. They have a direct impact on the study of a foreign language and the development of foreign language grammatical competence. During this period, many adolescents can be able to comprehend the grammatical structure of the language, to systematize the acquired knowledge, to fill the gaps in knowledge, to ascertain themselves in their abilities. For English teachers this age period is important due to increasing independence of students, their ability and willingness for further development of the linguistic competence. Taking into account individual characteristics of pupils promotes more efficient comprehension of foreign language grammar and increases motivation of learning a foreign language. The interactive whiteboard allows the teacher to apply various methods and techniques of work in accordance with the leading system of presentation of material to learners (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, digital), that influences their willingness to learn and ways of teaching a foreign language. Psychological and pedagogical researches of Russian and foreign authors were used in the article.
