Acmeological Approach to the Formation of Student’s Physical Culture Through Development of Athlete’s Physical Conditions in Swimming

Abstract: The article deals with the problem of improvement of effectiveness of the process of physical (sports) education in higher schools. It is necessary for resolve the contradiction between the need of formation of personal physical culture in the process of physical education declared in the normative documents and the lack of certainty in the approach to the implementation of this process. The acmeological approach is chosen as the main method of research which determines the orientation of the process on maximally creative self-realization of personality and the formation of such qualities as purposefulness and ability of self-realization. Physical and sports education in the form of development of athlete’s physical conditions through training became the conceptual and organizational basis of forming personal physical culture of students. The article describes the conditions of application of development of athlete’s physical conditions in swimming for the formation of personal physical culture necessary for the realization of the acmeological approach. The author has developed a hierarchical system of student competitions that can be used as an additional to the adopted system of competitions in student sports. The article presents the advantages of holding low level competitions at the place of the students’ study.
