Abstract: The article substantiates the need to update the content of advanced training of teachers in the system of early development of children, carried out in the framework of pre-school education. The activity approach was chosen as a basis for the selection of content, which involves consideration of the subject under study in terms of activity. The article discusses the requirements for professional actions, knowledge and skills of the teachers working with infants and young children from the perspective of the professional standard "Pedagogue" and accumulated practical experience, analyze the content of existing training programs, further training and professional development of teachers working with infants and young children, and consider the normative requirements for the content of advanced training of teachers. The author comes to the conclusion that that in addition to the basic sections regulated by documents, the content of advanced training of teachers in the system of early development of children should include profound theoretical training of students in physiology, psychology and pedagogy of infants and young children, and first aid measures; include organizational aspects of work with infants and young children in institutions of various types and forms of ownership in groups with different day routine, as well as in the family; contribute to the development of diagnostic, prognostic and reflective abilities of the teacher, to orient them toward a conscious use of techniques of early development of children.
