Abstract: The Conception of environmental education of Kazakhstan has been developed and approved in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Conception provides definitions of environmental education and upbringing, system and strategy of environmental education, and ecological culture. Environmental education is seen in Russia and in Kazakhstan as part of the general education system, but there is a need for special measures to ensure the establishment of legal, organizational, scientific, educational, informational, material and technical components of its development. Currently, we need to develop international cooperation in addressing global environmental problems and the application of international standards in the field of environmental protection and environmental safety. Kazakhstan has created real conditions for the transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to "green Economics." One of the six principles for the transition to "green Economics" is "teaching and formation of ecological culture in business and among the population", the need to improve existing and develop new educational programs of rational use of natural resources and environmental protection in the system of education and training. Particular attention is paid to such issues as inclusion in the educational programs of engineering specialties of elective courses in environmental issues and sustainable development, which would provide education for sustainable development as a target in the field of education.
Key words: A new model of environmental education, international cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan, six principles of transition to "green economy", training staff for the implementation of education for sustainable development.
