Abstract: The article addresses psycho-pedagogical aspects of the development of musical talent in the preschool period. Considerable attention is paid to the disclosure of the contents of the notions of "giftedness" and "talent" for children of preschool age. The purpose of this article is to describe the results of experimental work aimed at identifying preschool children having musical talent. The authors describe the criteria, indicators and levels of characteristics of the development of musical giftedness in children of preschool age. Such methods were used: analysis of scientific-theoretical and psycho-pedagogical literature on the problem; the experimental research in pre-school educational establishment; monitoring; and the study of experience of work on the problem. Analyzing the results obtained during experimental research, the authors prove the need to develop the content and forms of pedagogical support of children of senior preschool age in the development of musical talent, as well as approbation of such support in educational process of preschool educational organization.
