Abstract: The article deals with the content of work on the formation of the value-oriented attitude to the Orthodox artistic culture in junior schoolchildren in the process of excursions. The methods of research are analysis and generalization of material on the use of excursion activity potential in spiritual and moral education of pupils. The methodology of work is based on the activity approach to the acquisition of the values of the Orthodox artistic culture in the process of topical excursion, which opens up the possibility of studying the personal experience of artistic images – the carriers of spiritual traditions. As a result of their work, the authors propose a method of formation of the value-oriented attitude to the Orthodox artistic culture in junior schoolchildren in the process of excursions, including four stages with correlated forms and methods of organization of the process: preparatory (methods of ethical talk, reflections about the object of the art of spiritual tradition, creation of problem-based situations in the classroom, heuristic talk, or dispute); organizational (role-playing techniques, and simulation and modeling games); event-driven (methods of dialogue, emotional and cathartic experience of artistic images); activity-reflective (methods of association, moral and aesthetic judgment, self-expression and visualization of one’s own moral position in creative products in individual and group creative projects). The sphere of application of results: theory and methods of training and education (artistic education and aesthetic education).
