Structural and Functional Model of Adaptation of Vocational College Graduates to Future Professional Activity

Abstract: Pedagogical model of technical school student’s adaptation to the professional activity is presented in the article. The structure and the basic components of the model are revealed; the principles and conditions of professional competence formation of the future specialists are developed. For implementation of this model several pedagogical principles are provided: 1) humanistic professional orientation aimed at professional development and self-development of a person and creative self-realization; 2) integrity of interconnection of all structural (goal, content, forms and methods of teaching) and functional (value-motivational, cognitive and activity-based) components, interrelation of theoretical and practical training of future specialists; 3) dynamic character means development and adaptation to the changing social and economic situations; 4) parallelism of different types of adaptation in students’ training. One of the possible ways of implementation of this model is combination of the technology of modular training and the formation of continuous chain of adaptive situations. In the course of increasing of complexity of professional functions performed by the student he gains experience of possible variants of behavior in difficult situations in profession. Transformation of the structural and functional model of the adaptational process will guarantee optimization of the educational process and successful adaptation of vocational college students to the future profession.
