Abstract: The work raises the question of the shortcomings of traditional methodologies of teaching and discusses the idea of creating new methodology based on the system-cognitive approach and information and communication technologies. The learning process is presented as the functioning of a complex multicomponent system of students, teachers and Internet resources. Different characteristics of a student are discussed; a network model of a student is presented. Two methodological approaches are studied: constructivism and connectivism, focused on the network learning environment. To study a particular discipline in the networking ideology, it is proposed to take advantage of Web 2.0 technology, which makes it possible to create a teaching system. It is alleged that at present there are all theoretical assumptions and technical capabilities to organize the learning process on a completely different methodological level, and to implement it in accordance with the Bologna process based on student-centered learning. The conclusion is that the mastery of the new methodology will require from the teacher deep knowledge of networking technologies, i.e. a serious retraining of teachers will be necessary.
