Abstract: This article is devoted to the study of the features of formation of personal identity of students in higher educational institutions of various types of organizational environments. The main hypothesis is the assumption that the features and dynamics of formation of personal identity of students are determined by socio-psychological characteristics of the organizational environment of universities. The study, which is a longitudinal research, includes 2 stages, each of which offered respondents the same set of diagnostic techniques, and was conducted on the basis of a selection of students from different faculties of the three Moscow educational universities - the Higher School of Economics, Lomonosov Moscow State University and Moscow State Humanitarian University n.a. M. A. Sholokhov. The results of the study suggest that either the presence of cultural models expressed by the opposition of several organizational paradigms (for example, HSE), or the presence of cultural models with one dominant organisational paradigm (for example MSHU n.a. M. A. Sholokhov) contribute to the successful development of student`s personal identity. While the existence of cultural models with a consistent combination of two organizational paradigms based on the example of MSU n.a. M.V. Lomonosov is not a factor contributing to the successful formation of the personal identity of students during the period of study at the university. The consistency of students' ideas about the social and psychological parameters of the real and desired organizational environment, such as the innovation of educational environment and type of organizational culture, facilitates successful resolution of the crises of psychosocial development at the stage of studying at the university.
Key words: Organizational environment, higher educational institution, social-psychological characteristics of the organizational environment, personal identity of students.
