Abstract: The article is devoted to the relevant problem of Pedagogy, i.e. to the professional teacher’s training quality improvement; the efficiency of pedagogical activity and teacher’s status; and the use of the history of Pedagogy and education potential to solve the existing problems in this area. These problems become topical due to the importance of the pedagogical activity on the one hand, and the crisis in modern domestic education on the other. The Russian Education Academy’s (REA) XXXIst Scientific council session was devoted to the education history and pedagogical science problems and it was called «Teacher and His Development: Historical Experience of Education and Culture Transmission», which was held on the 6th-7th of June, 2016 in Tver. Scientific council on the education history and pedagogical science problems of REA brings together the leading scientists working with historical and pedagogical researches for more than thirty years already. Since 1986 eminent scientists heading scientific historical and pedagogical schools of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Tver, Ryazan, Smolensk, Kostroma, Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, Kazan, Orenburg, Omsk, Tomsk and others take part in the sessions together with the young scholars making their first steps in science. The sessions are held in the form of the international scientific and practical conferences. It is important that these conferences give the scientists a great opportunity not only to share experience and learn about the novelties in pedagogical science, but also to set the direction for further researches. As a member of the latest three sessions, the author of this article presents a short review of the latest XXXI session which was held, as mentioned above, in Tver on the 6th-7th of June, 2016 and was devoted to the problems of «teaching». The article describes the events that were held during the session: the plenary meeting, sections, round tables, presentation of the scientific school of the pedagogic and education historians in Tver. Special attention is paid to the thematic areas of the session and the key issues of pedagogical science and education, which were discussed during the previously mentioned events. It should also be noted that according to the results of the conference the proceedings digest is published. In addition, the most interesting articles are published in various domestic scientific journals such as: «Domestic and Foreign Pedagogy», «Values and Meanings», «Problems of Modern Education», «Historical and Pedagogical Journal» etc.
