Abstract: The article presents the results of the study of independence of senior preschoolers. Independence of senior preschool children is formed with the help of: integration of children's activities, educational support of independence and support from a teacher. Modern situation induces the necessity to find out under what conditions integration of children's activities may stimulate the development of independence of children of senior preschool age. It is suggested that for autonomy development the following ways of activity integration are of great importance: the first is integration of two operations simultaneously; the second is alternating activities aimed at the same result; the third is integration of the structural components of children's activities (motivation, content, required resources and ways of its implementation). With regard to this we developed an educational route to support independence of a child that reflected the objectives of independence, features of integration, the objects to support independent activity of children and support from the teacher. The practical part of the study showed that the development of independence based on the integration of children's activities is possible if there is psychological-pedagogical diagnostics of independence of older preschoolers. Based on the obtained data, we divided all the children into several groups on the basis of their independence manifestation. We developed educational routes to support independence development that include three types of communication between teacher and children and three types of activity integration. It is suggested that the amount of time for independent activities should be increased. All the toys and necessary materials should be of easy access to children. Support from the teacher plays an important role in independence development.
