Cultural Aspect of Increasing Preschool Children’s Motivation for English Learning

Abstract: Social demand and the increasing interest in the study of a foreign language in modern society determined the need for reassessment and revision of the previously established methods and techniques of teaching. When learning a foreign language in the absence of the possibility to use it in everyday life, particularly important are the issues of involving cultural components and enhancing the motivation to learn. The research subject is to implement the cultural approach to the problem of preschool children’s motivation for learning English. The purpose of this article is to show one of the ways of cultural approach implementation to teaching preschool children foreign language communicative competence. The article analyzes various aspects of integration of language and culture, the peculiarities of motivational sphere of preschool children and characteristics of the project method as a multi-purpose and multi-functional technology. As an example of efficient technology we chose the method of projects, enriched by cultural tools and techniques to meet the interests of preschoolers. The advice given in the article can be used by teachers of preschool educational institutions during the educational process and in designing projects for preschoolers.
