Abstract: The article describes the technology of holding an ethno-pedagogical festival, which is aimed at better socialization of foreign students studying in Russia for teaching professions. The principles of the festival include multiculturalism, interactivity, multi-activity and performance on different stages, the presence of event-driven framework, consolidation of several organizers and sponsors, authoritative state bodies and ethno-cultural community organizations, promotion of the ideas of tolerance, friendship, peace, wealth, cultural diversity, the presence of its own focus of the festival, and the focus of the festival on a specific target audience. To plan the festival it is necessary to solve several specific tasks. The first task includes analysis of ethnocultural festivals which have already been held to learn the experience of creating intercultural dialogue in the framework of the festival. The second task is the development of the content of the festival, satisfying such requirements as professional (pedagogical) orientation, accessibility, entertainment, mass and creative activity of the participants. The third task is the search for the event framework of the festival as an additional factor to motivate students to take part in the ethnic and cultural festival. The fourth task is development of the form of the festival, adequate to its content. The technology of organization of such an event is exemplified by the festival of ethno-pedagogical heritage of the peoples of the world "A New Day". Special attention is paid to justification of the vernal equinox being the event-basis of the festival. The need for careful justification is caused by the fact that most of the residents of the Ural region associate this day with the Muslim holiday of "Navruz". At the end of the article quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the festival is provided.
