Abstract: This article examines the problem of ethno-regional teacher’s training at the stage of postgraduate education. The aim of this stage of training is to improve the professional skills of teachers in educational institutions where native (non-Russian) language is used in teaching taking into account the national, regional and ethno-cultural peculiarities of Sayano-Altai Region. The article gives the list of the main professional competencies that should be formed and developed at the stage of post-graduate education via various forms and methods of work. The main content of the study is the analysis of the activities of educational, research and other organizations which deal with the preservation and development of the language and culture of the ethnic groups in the region. The author describes the main functions of each of the represented organizations, their principal activities, as well as their role in the work of improving professional skills of a teacher, taking into account national, regional and ethno-cultural characteristics. Examples of various activities that contribute to improvement of the quality of ethno-regional teacher’s training at the stage of postgraduate education are given. In conclusion, it is justified that the solution of the problem of teacher’s professional skills improvement can be found in integrated and systemic approach to it and together with different educational, research, experimental and other organizations of the region.
