Abstract: Teaching process in the program 43.03.03 “Hotel Industry” should conform to the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education with regard to the peculiarities (including regional specifics) of the level of development and functioning of the sphere of hotel services and tourism. Ekaterinburg is one of the host city of 2018 FIFA World Cup. This fact leads to the increase of the number of tourists visiting the city. Huge interest of tourists to sport changes the requirements to the hospitality industry employees. As many of the tourists come from abroad, it is important for hotel staff to speak a foreign language and to know a lot about football and psychology of fans in particular. It is possible to teach students to interact with sportsmen and people in sport in the frameworks of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education by means of formation of general cultural competences. Formation of the general cultural competence “the ability to use the methods and means of physical education for high-quality social and professional activity” in the module “Physical Education and Sport” gives opportunities for the development of a number of other general cultural competences by means of immersion in sport and allied discourses. The article discusses specific features of the classes of Physical Education for Hotel Industry students in the aspect of general cultural competences formation; the main forms of classes that meet the goals are described; characteristics of theses forms is given.
