Abstract: Health limitations and special educational needs are one of the most important issues in the modern society. The number of children with health limitation is growing year by year, as well as the number of children with chronic illnesses and disabilities. It is obvious that proper psychological and pedagogical assistance to children with neuro-cognitive developmental risk may reduce the negative consequences and rehabilitate the child. Child-parent cooperation is a risk reducing factor or a means to prevent complications of some disorders that may in future influence formation of sensor, motor and cognitive functions negatively. Children with a genetic risk of autism or ADHD took part in this research, as well as typically developing children. The results of the two-phase dispersive analysis of the method Parent-child Interaction prove that “Support of cooperation” and “Directivity” influence both behavior and socio-emotional skills and motor development of children with the genetic risk of autism or ADHD. McArthur’s questionary helped to reveal diversity of speech development of children taking part in this research; passive word stock of children with genetic risk of autism and ADHD is much smaller. All the parents who took part in the research may be divided into two groups: those who think that their child suffers from underdevelopment of speech; and those who pay little attention to speech development of children. The data acquired in the research may be used to develop a program aimed at correction of child-parent relations and teaching parents effective cooperation with their children to prevent or reduce the risk of sensor and cognitive sphere disorders. This program will help to reduce the number of children with health limitations or make adaptation of such children to the society easier.
Key words: Neurocognitive development; autistic spectrum disorders; syndrome of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder; ADHD; parent-child interaction; parent-child relations; relations within the family; sensomotor development.
