The analysis of the research results allows identifying the educational resource of social networks, which lies in the fact that social networks can be used to implement educational (including the interactive ones) programs and projects, to design students’ individual development trajectories on the basis of individual educational programs. Integration of social networks into educational process provides a broad popularization of cultural and national traditions, involvement of students in creative activities, creation of conditions for self-education, career guidance and preventive work, and career development. The authors investigate the possible use of contemporary educational technologies – debates, social project, forums and new information technologies – in integration of social networks into the educational process. When introducing social networks into the educational process, it is important to understand that there must be a coordinator to involve children and young people in a virtual educational environment – i.e. a teacher with the necessary competences and equipped with effective methods for the implementation of such type of activity. The authors justify the need for direct application of social resources of the Internet in education.
