Abstract: The article investigates the teaching model Translation workshop, which is used in teaching translators and interpreters at Heilongjiang University. We analyze its specific characteristics and pay special attention to the application process, including material selection and translation, group discussion, under tutor’s consideration and record the comments. The educational process is organized in a way which enables all Master’s Degree Students take part in the training process of translation and interpreting without exception. This method has four stages: translation excercises, discussion of the excersises, the tutor’s comments, and perfection of translation. The use of Translation workshop in teaching translators and interpreters has the following advantages: it emphasizes the role of each student in completing translation tasks, they get the necessary background knowledge, learn basic translation skills and meet the requirements of translation education. Experience shows that the use of the teaching model can be used in other Chinese universities.
