Abstract: This paper discusses the current issues of training of teachers of History, Social Science and Law at Russian universities. The article studies the theoretical aspects of the content of the courses of History and Social Science, as well as some issues relating mainly to the methods and methodology of training of students of pedagogical specialties. The article identifies the main problems, which can a young teacher face at the lessons of History, Social Science and Law, as well as in their teaching activities. One of such problems is the discrepancy of value-worldview reference points in the study of courses of History and Social Studies. Another problem is that the development of legal knowledge of schoolchildren began to outstrip their moral and social maturity, and this leads to the formation of their attitude to the law, primarily as a manipulative tool. The article notes the importance of training future teachers in identifying aspects of historical knowledge that contribute to the upbringing of patriotism. The article emphasizes the need to strengthen the practice-oriented component in teaching future teachers legal subjects and the importance of considering typical problem situations arising in pedagogical work, as well as developing practical skills in using mediation and restorative approach in conflicts involving minors. It is proposed to pay special attention to training future teachers in the methods and technologies of conducting lessons in the form of debates and discussions, which contributes to the formation of civil and legal consciousness of schoolchildren, and also develops a habit of expressing the ideas and thoughts clearly.
