Abstract: The paper discusses the problem of communicative development of preschoolers with developmental speech delay in the context of the goals of preschool educational establishment. The main components of communicative development and communication are described. Communication is a kind of interaction to exchange information; communicative development of a child is a complex mechanism, in the result of which the child learns to establish and keep contacts with the people and the world. Communication is the mediator for the development of consciousness and psycho. The ability to communicate in the positive way helps a child to feel well in the community; it is thanks to communication that the child learns not only the others but himself as well. In the frames of this article we give the results of the research of communicative sphere of preschoolers with developmental speech delay. The research included the following parameters: the level of communicative skills (the aspiration for communication, emotional state in communication, the type of contact, the ability to begin the conversation, to attract attention, to choose the means of information exchange and correlate them to the communicative goal, to feel confident in the communicative situation, to use some techniques to be understood (to clarify, to ask a question, to repeat), to reveal the scope of active and passive vocabulary, to determine the level of the active vocabulary and to determine the level of grammar knowledge. It is argued that even having a good level of communicative skills, preschoolers with developmental speech delay suffer difficulties in the use of these skills in communication process; they need psychological and pedagogical support of the specialists.
