Abstract: Instrumental training of a music teacher involves the mastery of the repertoire that can be used at music lessons in school. The repertoire "baggage" of teachers emerges already in the process of professional training in the class of the main musical instrument playing. The use of special methods aimed at the durable memorizing of music material and the prevention of forgetting, optimizes the process of development and accumulation of the repertoire of future teachers of music. These are the methods of generalization and systematization, involving analytical work associated with a new interpretation of the music. A synthesis of the musical material is connected with an analysis of its stylistic patterns, and its systematization is connected with the understanding of the role and place of the work or its fragment in the process of a specific music class or study of a specific topic. The development of professional motivation has a positive effect on the quality of memorization and preservation of material, which in its turn, promotes the formation of a professional orientation. The developed didactic methods of repetition - partial, complete and combined – can also be used in music pedagogy and contribute to more lasting memorization of music. Application of these methods involves the use of additional musical material for comparison and matching with the studied one. Thus, rehearsal is a creative process that stimulates the development of independence, creative approach to the same piece of music and promote professional motivation.
