The Project Method to Improve the Quality of Legal Education at School

Abstract: The article examines the project method as educational technology. The authors investigate the approaches to the structure and organization of the project activities. They analyze the practicability of the project method and its application in the study of law in educational organizations. This method is considered in terms of achieving the goals of modern education (intellectual and moral development of the individual, the formation of critical thinking, ability to work with information). The authors consider different approaches to the project method in the domestic and foreign pedagogical science. The authors compare the project method with traditional approaches to education. According to the authors, the project method serves as a method of individualization and intensification of the learning process. The use of this method at Law lessons contributes to the increment of new knowledge that can be used in real life. The article provides a typology of projects, the authors made an attempt to classify them on various grounds. The article contains some recommendations for teachers of how to supervise students' projects. The authors correlate the requirements of Federal Government Standard in such subject area as "Law" and the possibility of the formation of competencies of the students through the project activities. The project methodology allows to motivate the students to study the basis of law, both public and private law.
