Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of the textbook and practical training "Social Pedagogy" for academic baccalaureate, edited by Doctor of Pedagogy, Prof. N. Sokolova. Publishing House Yurayt, 2016. – 360 p. – Series: Universities of Russia. In connection with the fact that the requirements to the level of professionalism of future specialists are constantly increasing, the publishing of this textbook is timely, because its content has fundamentally new, non-traditional and traditional provisions of social pedagogy as a science, academic discipline and practice, focused on the preparation of a competitive university graduate. The content of this textbook is based of the Federal State Standard, the defining ideas of which are the formation of professional competence related to fundamental training in the Humanities. This position of the authors of the textbook made it possible to present the theoretical and methodological foundations of social pedagogy, the concept-categorical apparatus of science, to reveal the essence and features of the process of socialization of the individual in various spheres of life, to develop technologies of the implementation of this process, as well as tasks for independent work of students and tests. The course book is addressed to students, teachers, postgraduate students, and all those who provide quality training of specialists.
