Abstract: Vacations pedagogy as a special field of theory and practice has a rich experience of cultural, health-preserving and other activity, but the dynamically changing socio-cultural environment sets new challenges and stimulates to renovation of pedagogical recourses matching social, technical and other demands of the 21st century. In accordance with these challenges, a Forum of leaders and pedagogues of rehabilitation centers of kids “Riches of the Urals Vacations” was held under the supervision of the Ministry of General and Special Education of Sverdlovsk Oblast, State Pedagogical University, the Department for Youth Policy of Sverdlovsk Oblast, the State Budgetary Institution “The Youth of the Urals”, “and Youth Palace”. The Forum targeted at the issues of conceptualization of the education of kids and teenagers during vacations, of generalization of the practical experience in the sphere of children’s health; generalization and systematization of theoretical and practical approaches in soft-ware backup of the vacation period, in scientific-methodological support for children in such significant spheres as health, cognition, leisure; prediction of the development trends in the sphere of primary socialization (first of all during vacations) of children of the Sverdlovsk Oblast and other regions. Theory and practice show that vacations pedagogy is becoming a specific resource for the realization of the ideas of accessibility, continuity and innovation of education of children and teenagers. The Forum “Riches of the Urals Vacations” showed, on the one hand, the experience obtained in our experiment, and, on the other hand, it outlined important avenues of further development of so socially significant branches of health-improving, organization of leisure and labor activity of children and teenagers during vacations.
