Abstract: The article discusses psychological assistance to children with atypical features of appearance of different age in a scientific-practical center. The urgency of this problem is determined by the fact that an information-analytical component is the basic one in the forming space; it includes not only the collection and processing of information about children with atypical features of appearance, but it also implies the development of effective methods for the specialists. The beginning of the article outlines the problem of the study, which is the need of the implementation of the comprehensive psychological assistance to families raising children with atypical features of appearance. It presents a variety of areas and blocks of psychological assistance, such as: correction of the marital relationship, parent-child relationships, parenting style, career guidance for adolescents and their parents. Correction of child-parent relations aimed at the development of the following knowledge and skills: the skills of exploring and communicating; the skills of taking the other position, an exercise “glance at oneself”; the ability to find positive qualities in the others; the ability for joint decision-making. The program of correction of style of family education includes parent-child, parental and marital components. Program of the training for teenagers with the elements of vocational guidance contains child’s and parent’s components. The child's component includes formation and development of the following knowledge and skills: skills of open communication style, skills of self-presentation, the attitude to oneself, self-assessment, development and personal growth, the ability to appreciate the other person, etc.
