The Problem of Heterogeneity of Educational Groups in Pedagogical Master' Program

Abstract: The article is devoted to discuss the composition of students in pedagogical master' programs of the Institute of pedagogy and psychology of childhood of the Ural state pedagogical University. The necessity of this analysis, which is expressed through, firstly, the state educational policy of recent years, which is aimed at increasing the number of students in master's programs, and secondly, through the need to understand what level of training come to master's degree, because different levels of training generates a variety of professional and educational trajectories in the system of higher education. The percentage ratio of age groups of master's students is presented, the content of training is considered from the point of view of continuity of educational programs of bachelor's and master's degrees and also the answers of respondents to the question “the purpose of training in master's degree” are analyzed. The problems that may be faced by master's students in learn of the educational program of master's degree, as well as the options for their solutions: provide students with ample opportunities to independently study the basic foundations of professional culture and core competencies; applicants can be trained in additional professional program in the relevant field; in the basic professional educational program can be included elective courses aimed at filling or deepening competencies.
