Emotional-Volitional Readiness as Integrative Component of Readiness Children to School Training

Abstract: In article characteristic of emotional-volitional readiness of children as integrative component of school readiness is given; the rating scale allowing to determine the level of its formation is offered. Readiness for school represents the complete system of the interconnected qualities of the children's personality. On the basis of the analysis of scientific works of leading experts in the field of training of children for school training (L. I. Bozovic, L. S. Vygotsky, A. I. Zaporozhets, N. A. Tsyrkun, D. B. Elkonin, etc.) the following interconnected components of school readiness are allocated: physiological, intellectual, speech, communicative, motivational, social, personal, emotional and volitional. Considering close interrelation and the general ways of formation of volitional and emotional readiness, the author draws a conclusion about need of allocation of an integrative emotional and volitional component which in turn is a part of more difficult phenomenon — the school readiness having also integrative character. Emotional-volitional readiness for school training is defined as any regulation of behavior and the emotional states accompanying educational situations at high-quality mastering new activity in which motives are understood created at the high level the purposes are defined and efforts for their achievement will be mobilized. The author emphasizes that emotional-volitional readiness is successfully formed if at the advanced preschool age the child gets acquainted with educational activity, new to it, by means of involvement in a game. As the main criteria emotionally — the ability to emotional regulation and existence of emotional stability are distinguished to volitional readiness; randomness of mental processes; expressiveness of volitional behavior; motivation on achievement of the goal; focus on the set system of requirements; ability to self-organization; adequacy of a self-assessment and relation to assessment. The author developed and presented in the text of article the rating scale including criteria and indicators of emotional-volitional readiness and also the tools offered for holding diagnostic procedures.
