Abstract: The article deals with pedagogical approaches in the organization of independent musical activity of beginning vocalists in additional education of children. Axiological, health-saving and information-activity approaches are described. The integration of approaches reflects the important components of the process of personality development-ideological, educational, value, operational – and is aimed at multi-level study of vocal art in the process of training vocalists in order to identify its value-semantic content. The axiological approach includes the ideas formed by the novice vocalist about the sound of his own voice, interest in various types of musical activity, the ability to make value-value judgments about the qualities of the singing sound of other pop artists. The health-saving approach assumes observance of hygienic conditions of functioning of the vocal apparatus at beginning vocalists in the course of regular, extra-curricular occupations and concert performances. The information-activity approach assumes education and development of the qualities of the person meeting requirements of information society; the account of individual features of each trained providing growth of creative potential; independent successful mastering by trained knowledge, abilities, skills, types of musical activity. These approaches in their pedagogical activities can be used by teachers of additional education, music teachers, teachers of pop vocal in children's music schools, children's art schools, palaces of culture, children's pop studios. The pedagogical approaches considered in the article can help teachers to expand their understanding of the specific features of vocal pedagogy.
