Abstract: The article is devoted to the shortage of Methodists of a new format. The idea of reviving the schools of Methodists has been put forward as a solution to the contradiction between the demand for Methodists al consulting and the insufficient number of experts prepared for methodical work. The authors compare the real requirements for the Methodists and the formal qualification characteristics of the Methodists as one of the positions of teachers. The integrity of the examination and personal approach in the methodical work is approved. The provisions of the resource approach are used to explain the personal resource of the professional effectiveness of the Methodists. In the current context, the concept of “information-analytical service” is considered, through which the authors illustrate the importance of information products of the Methodists. The novelty of the provisions considered is to justify the prerequisites for the development of methodical work in the education system and to clarify the influence of expert Methodists on education quality management tools. The theoretical significance of the research results presented in the article is associated with the introduction of the concept of “methodical consulting” to denote a complex of professional qualities, characteristics and functions of expert-methodists. The recommendations proposed by the authors can be used in organizing the activities of methodological services, designing the functionality of employees in charge of methodical work, and updating continuing education programs for deputy heads of schools.
