Abstract: Introduction. The article examines the peculiarities of the development of design-thinking in the process of training masters in the field of design education. Drawing on the 2018 report at the World Economic Forum, the authors emphasize the new requirements that should lead to a change in the way a new type of person think. The authors consider the emergence of the term design-thinking, the field of application of technologies, which contributes to the development of flexibility and originality. The role of Potsdam and Stanford Schools of Design Thinking stands out. The methodology and methodology of the study. The authors in his work explore the parallel existence of artistic design and artistic design as the main branches in the development of the design of the Soviet school, as well as their role in shaping the foundations of design-thinking. A number of scientists dealing with the development of creative and creative thinking stand out in the work. The approaches of a number of researchers to the development of the process of design education in our country, as well as the application of design-thinking in this process, are being investigated. The authors examine the peculiarities of thinking of the designer and the artist, based on intuitive thinking and using a figurative approach. The results of the study. Based on the definition of J. Guildford, compared the closeness of creative and design thinking and stood out basic positions. The role of the consumer in shaping the tasks of creating a product based on design thinking is emphasized. The main stages of the algorithm when creating a product in relation to working with master's design are described. Conclusion. Concluding the article, the authors emphasize that the use of technologies using design thinking techniques allows to neutralize the fear of failure in the creation of creative products. Based on the identified factors, it is concluded that this technology should be included in the learning process in the training of students and masters in design education and design.
