Abstract: In the article we analyze the social and psychological and professional characteristics of people of late adulthood. One of the significant characteristics of the life of this age is the completion of professional activity. Experiencing this situation gives rise to a crisis of loss of solvency. The importance at this age are the contradictions of the objective (external) and subjective (internal) factors of the social development situation. These inconsistencies acquire the character of conflicting realities [8]. Overcoming conflicting realities necessitated the search for strategies and technologies that are adequate to socio-psychological characteristics in late adulthood. As a predictor of the actualization of the resolution of the contradictions of development in late adulthood, their self-actualization appears. The purpose of the study was to identify strategies and technologies for overcoming conflicting realities in the process of self-realization in late adulthood. The object of the study was the period of late adulthood of the personality. The subject of the study is strategies and technologies for overcoming conflicting realities. The research methodology was the concept of professional development of the personality. The methods of obtaining information on the research problem were theoretical and methodological analysis of scientific literature, logical and semantic modeling of personal self-realization, a method for designing scenarios for overcoming conflicting realities and forecasting a professional future. The research of strategies and technologies for overcoming conflicting realities resulted in a description of the social situation of development in late maturity in the conditions of loss of profession and changes in previous life activity, identification of the vector of personality development in a new social reality, finding ways of further self-realization. The activity of the subject initiates the formation of such neoplasms as self-determination, self-actualization and transcendence, which become the source of the choice of individually-oriented strategies to overcome conflicting realities: pre-adaptive, adaptive, protective and destructive. An effective psychological technology for transforming oneself is self-realization in various forms of employment, allowing individuals to overcome conflicting realities. The result of the search for forms and methods of overcoming crisis situations is reflected in the model of self-realization of a person in late maturity. The research results can be used in the work of personnel management services of organizations, in the implementation of further education, advanced training of continuing education teachers, as well as in the design of online courses and the construction of individual education paths in late adulthood.
