Abstract: The article reveals some features of mastering the grammar of the Russian language by foreign students (by the example of mastering grammatical categories of a noun). Having studied the legal documents regulating the education of migrant children, the authors determined the directions that should be taken into account when forming the content of the educational program in preschool and primary schools. At the same time, the process of Russian-language education of migrant students should be based on a systematic principle, since the training is based on a common communicative-cognitive, activity-based and personality-oriented approach. The article describes in more detail the work on the grammatical structure of Russian speech in foreign-language preschoolers and primary school children, since grammar is the basis for mastering any language. The defining direction in this work, starting from preschool age, is to master the grammar of the noun, such categories as animate / inanimate, gender, number, prepositional-case forms, etc. The authors distinguish groups of techniques for observing grammatical features of a noun and introducing them into speech practice: 1) inclusion of speech samples of the use of nouns in educational communicative situations; 2) imitative exercises with grammatical material; 3) transformation of speech turns in order to correctly use them in speech; 4) independent answers to questions from the teacher or native speakers. When familiarizing migrant students with the grammar of the noun, the authors take into account the following methodological principles: 1) communication-oriented; 2) concentric; 3) complex; and 4) systematic. Describing the features of studying the grammar of a noun by foreign-language students of preschool and primary school age, the authors note the importance of simultaneously mastering the meaning and function of grammatical phenomena as the basis for active learning of grammar.
