Abstract: The study of bullying in the Russian school environment was conducted within the framework of two methodological approaches: symbolic interactivityism, as well as psychology and deviance sociology. The empirical material of the pilot study was collected through the use of the psychological and pedagogical method “Bullying Risk Questionnaire” (A. A. Bochaver and others) among 247 high school students of the Sverdlovsk region (November-December 2019). The results obtained allow us to prepare the ground for a larger sociological study of bullying among high school students, to identify gender differences in the manifestations of bullying, to establish the relationship between the size of the settlement and the spread of bullying. This research served as a basis and motivation for development of preventive measures aimed at improving the activities of educational organizations in work with manifestations of bullying.
