Abstract: The article reveals the urgency of the problem of the formation of ethno-cultural values in modern pedagogical science, which meets social needs and state order. The normative documents confirming the relevance of the problems are considered: the State Program "Patriotic Education of Citizens of the Russian Federation for 2016-2020" and "The Strategy of the State National Policy of the Russian Federation for the Period until 2025". The theoretical basis for the study of ethno-cultural values is research devoted to culture as a way of regulating the life of man and society, a dialogue with representatives of other cultures, ethno-cultural orientation of education, methodology and theory of ethno-pedagogy. The article defines the concept of ethno-cultural values as a set of values of the global, national and folk culture based on three interconnected value levels and objectified in cultural monuments, historical heritage, language, worldview focused on ethnic identification and national integration. Ethnocultural values are examined at interrelated levels, in the basis lie eternal humanistic values; the next level contains family and natural values that unite the values of each individual; the last level combines historical and ethnic values that include the values of a particular ethnos with, aimed at strategically important processes of ‘ethnic identification and intercultural integration.’ The following components of the key concept are singled out: cognitive-activity, moral-aesthetic and value-semantic ones. The essence of the selected components, criteria and practical results of their formation are revealed. Based on the conducted research, it was concluded that the formation of the selected components proves that this pedagogical process can be considered effective.
