Abstract: The article presents the results of empirical research of the image of communicative level of a teacher among parents whose children go to secondary educational establishments. Forty people took part in the experiment, nine males and thirty one females aged 32-55 having secondary or higher education. The method of this research is based on the study of the image of the levels of communicative behavior of a teacher and it consists of assessment of ten complex pedagogical situations and the teacher’s behavior in each of them. The parents had to match the patterns of behavior with communicative levels of a teacher. As a results it was possible to analyse the parents’ images of communicative level of a teacher, communicative illiteracy, communicative competence and communicative creativity in particular. It was found that the extreme communicative levels (communicative illiteracy and communicative creativity) were easily identified, while the intermediate cases caused difficulties. The level of communicative literacy caused the parents many difficulties: the least number of cases of communicative behavior of a teacher were referred to this level. Comparative analysis of the experiment results showed that there is a correlation between the communicative levels and the types of communicative behavior of a teacher (constructive, destructive and ambivalent). In other words, the level of communicative illiteracy is connected in the minds of the parents with the destructive type of communicative behavior, while the level of communicative creativity correlates with the constructive type of communicative behavior of a teacher.
