Abstract: The contemporary conditions of international cooperation in different spheres make it important for the graduates to have knowledge of a foreign language. Both Bachelor and Master Degree students should have competences in the sphere of international cooperation to be able to discuss the results of science-research work. The article studies the relevance of formation of foreign language communicative science-research competence of Master Degree students. In this article the competence is defined, the process of teaching Master Degree students a foreign language for the science-research work and the methodology of educational process organization are studied. The foreign communicative science-research competence is defined by the authors as multicomponent, that combines the foreign, communicative, educational, intercultural, vocational and science competences with the competence of academic and scientific communication. The article defines the foreign science-research competence as the ability and readiness for the intercultural communication taking into account the main linguistic features of a foreign language in order to obtain new vocational knowledge from the indigenous and foreign researchers, to summarize it, to make the critical assessment, to define its promising directions for the development of the program and research phases, and to discuss the research results with the scholars from different countries by solving the main vocational objectives. The authors share their experience of using the educational methodology course English for Academics for the formation foreign language communicative science-research competence of Master Degree students. Different sections of the educational methodology course are intended for the formation of each component of the foreign language communicative science-research competence. The educational methodology course is designed for the development of all the types of speech activity that is an undoubtable advantage of the course. The educational material in the course book for students is structured in such a way that the teacher can individually organize work according to the level of English language knowledge and the requirements to the results of the study. The article gives a detailed description of all the sections of this course. The course promotes the formation and development of each component of the foreign language communicative science-research competence. The authors of the article give practical suggestion on organizing the educational process of teaching a foreign language for the science-research work of Master Degree students using the educational methodology course English for Academics.
