Abstract: The subject of the article is the methodological bases of studying Russian speech etiquette in the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language to the beginners (general knowledge). Using the example of work with Russian speech etiquette models, the authors show the possibility of realization of the communicative-activity approach in teaching the Russian language as foreign, which contributes to achieving the main goal – to form the communicative competence of the learners. The article deals with the necessity of using the consciously-practical method and such interactive techniques as a role-playing game and testing in the process of learning the Russian language speech etiquette, which increase selfmotivation of foreign students to study the subject. The results of scientific research synthesis and the pedagogical experience were the examples of situational tasks and tests created by the authors, which could be used either as one of the ways to control the efficiency of acquisition of the knowledge and formation of the skills of the learners or as a training base while studying the models of the Russian language speech etiquette. The practical usage of the material is conditioned by the possibility to use a role-playing game and tests, mentioned in the article, for the purpose of control and correction of the further process of studying and it also helps the students to estimate their achievements in learning and formation of the skills of communication and dialogue according to the purposes and areas of communication using the speech etiquette models on the basis of the studied lexico-grammatical material. The formed communicative abilities and adequate perception of the situation to use certain models of the Russian language speech etiquette help foreign students to become equal and competent members of communication with native speakers.
