Abstract: This article examines children understanding of artwork through the perception of its emotional content. The essence of the idea of «emotional response» is defined from psychological and physiological, musical and educational perspective.. In this paper psychological characteristics of children artwork perception are presented, analysis results on art education programmes are offered from developing emotional response perspective. This article proposes methodology of developing emotional response, its stages and their succession, the aim and tasks of each stage are exposed, methods of developing emotional response are found, exercises for each stage are done.
