Abstract: The article discusses the necessity of changing the organizational structure of the university education process with the aim of ensuring its conformity with the requirements of the modern information society. Principles of the educational process building on the basis of the information-technological model of training (IT-model) are given; the order of organization of academic subject study is discussed. The conditions for the implementation of the educational process on the basis of IT-model are enumerated. Features of organization of synchronous and asynchronous learning in the IT-model are considered. Possible measures to reduce the educational load of the teacher are listed. In conclusion some of the issues of normative-organizational nature are mentioned, which require decisions in constructing of the educational process in a higher educational institution on the basis of the IT-model.
