Abstract: In this article considers the specification of grammatical opposition of the past and past tenses in Russian caused by the subjective and psychological attitude to category of tense of not only the native Russian speakers, but also of its researchers. Difficult process of formation of modern system of forms of grammatical tense in the course of interaction with components of an aspect-temporal complex, personification of consciousness and language within various paradigms shows interweaving tense aspects as a result of psycholinguistic perception and judgment of reality in the terms of tenses specifications.
