Abstract: The article describes the concepts of "universal educational action" and "foundations of universal educational actions". The aim is to describe the structural and functional model of formation of the foundations of universal educational actions in project activities of senior preschool children and to give the characteristics of its basic structural components. The following methods have been used – analysis of scientific-theoretical, psychological and pedagogical literature on the problem; experimental research work in preschool educational institutions; surveillance; survey of experience on the issue; comprehending the author's own experience as a senior tutor of a preschool educational institution. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that the author has attempted to build an evidence-based model of forming the foundations of universal educational actions in senior preschool children, as a result of the process of finalizing the level of pre-school education, based on the analysis of scientific-theoretical, psychological and pedagogical literature on the issue. The author describes the experience in pre-school educational institutions, revealing the characteristics and conditions of the organization of project activities for preschool children. The obtained results, the revealed conditions and the proposed methods and tools may be used in the practice of teachers in institutions of preschool education, supplementary education, and in family education. The author makes a conclusion about the possibility of forming the foundations of universal educational actions at the stage of completion of pre-school education of children as a prerequisite to educational activity in the course of project activities.
