Abstract: The article addresses the problem of construction and implementation of double major baccalaureate (French and English languages) for intending teachers. The author provides a chronological list of normative documents giving pedagogical universities an opportunity to project curricula with two profiles. One can draw a conclusion that a 5-year double-profile bachelor course will guarantee the graduates a fulltime job, occupational mobility, competitiveness in the labor market and thus welfare safety. The aim and the objectives of the 5-year bachelor course are revealed through a contrastive analysis of standards for higher education for the 4-year and 5-year bachelor courses. The more detailed analysis of labor intensity of the 4-year and 5-year bachelor courses is given. The article provides a historical review of educational activity of the Institute of Foreign Languages since its foundation and the data of monitoring the prospective needs for the pedagogical staff in the Ural Region. The article also highlights the fact that the crucial tasks of the education system development and the existing international policy in the sphere of education broaden the prospectives for IFL graduates’ employment. The second part of the article presents the structure of the curriculum for the double-profile bachelor course (French and English), based on the experience carried out in IFL USPU. The profiles are equal in the contents and are realized in parallel. The peculiarities of the suggested curriculum are being considered in the article. There is a description of optional courses for students. The author concludes that preserving institutional memory and avoiding duplication in the contents of professional cycle disciplines are key to the successful implementation of such tasks as creation and realization of a curriculum with two combined profiles.
