Файл статьи: PDF
Abstract: In 2015 we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the Great Patriotic War. Large-scale events devoted to these anniversaries turned the attention of historians, politicians and public figures towards various aspects of the war history – and first of all, to the problem of preserving the memory of the past events. The search movement was one of the key directions in the war history study, which the government paid great attention to in the jubilee year. Unfortunately, 70 years after the end of hostilities on the battlefields of World War II, the problem of searching, establishing and perpetuating the memory of soldiers killed in defending the Motherland is still urgent for our country: according to the Russian Search Movement, hundreds of thousands of soldiers are on the "missing list". The article focuses on the role of search activities in the youth patriotic education and historical memory formation. The authors have analyzed ten years’ experience of the "Styx" student search team, formed in the USPU, and described the problems and prospects of the search movement development in modern Russia.
Key words: Historical memory, study of the history of World War II, Great Patriotic War, patriotic education, search activity, search movement of Russia.
