Educational Websites as a Means of Professional Self-actualization of a Teacher

Abstract: The article is dedicated to the self-actualization problem which is nowadays one of the key interdisciplinary problems to be researched by psychologists, philosophers, sociologists, culturologists and teachers. As a key condition for fruitful self-actualization of a teacher is considered to be aspiration for self-development and capability to do it. Today a special role in professional activity of a teacher is assigned by authors to educational websites as a part of the worldwide computer network. The potential of modern educational web resources as a means of professional self-actualization of a teacher has been analyzed. The typology of educational web-sites to serve as a basis for self-actualization has been introduced: helping to create something generally useful in the course of professional activity, enhancing teacher's satisfaction of working process itself, of product of work, contributing to public recognition of teacher's work significance and his or her achievements. The modern educational web resources are subdivided into following groups: web sites of educational institutions; web projects for conducting distance education; web sites for educational information disseminating; web sites for conducting scientific researches; directory web sites; web sites of competitive internet projects; web sites of educational-methodical associations; educational communities in social networks; educational web services.
