Abstract: The article deals with the problem of group interaction of students in modern educational theory and practice. In connection with the introduction of provisions of systemic-activity approach into new educational standards of general education the author substantiates the relevance of interaction in the system of student-student relations, i.e. group interactions of students. The article analyzes the role of such relations in the achievement of results not only in the given discipline, but also meta-disciplinary and personal ones. The author concludes that the modern teacher should know the methods and forms of organization of students 'activities, which correspond to the value orientations of modern education, including ways of developing students' interaction skills and should realize their importance for the achievement of learning results. In this regard, the article highlights the necessity of methodological support of the process of development of group interaction of students, which includes the use of special classroom assignments of problematic and research or creative nature, the support of the tasks by instructions for their solving, reflecting the specific nature of the necessary skills and psycho-educational techniques aimed at the development of certain skills of interaction.
