Abstract: The term "psychological culture" designates a relatively new concept, and it should be noted that modern psychological literature does not give a clear definition concept of this term. This phenomenon has been inadequately studied in psychology and other related sciences, however, the term begins to be used more often in psychological and pedagogical practice, although the question of the definition of "psychological culture", its content and structure remains open. There are studies which attempt to work out approaches to the study of this phenomenon, to determine the main components of psychological culture of personality, by such authors as: A. Asmolov, I. Dubrovina, I. Zimnyaya, L. Kolmogorova, O. Motkov, A. Orlov, N. Pevzner, V. Semikin and others. Nevertheless, despite the variety of empirical research in the field of psychological culture, it is necessary to state one-sided manner of approach to the study of this problem. To determine the nature of the concept of "psychological culture", the author considers and analyzes approaches to its understanding in various definitions, adequately reflecting the specificity of psychological culture and the evolution of the concept of "culture" at different stages of development.
