Abstract: The paper addresses the information environment offered by the Internet services, including the use of the wiki. The authors proceed from the fact that student’s learning, organized on the basis of the information environment of the wiki, enhances motivation for self-development, increases personal responsibility in the organization of group activities and provides psychological support in collaborative learning. Education in the wiki-environment provides collaboration of students with the teacher and with other students in different kinds of cognitive and creative activity. All this solves the problem of socialization, which is rather urgent today. Wiki-environments manifest themselves in two ways: they are both tools and processes. As a tool, the wiki environment is included in the learning process, and as a process, it is a subject of study. The authors examine the realization of each approach. The organization of student’s learning is built on the research of psychologists in the field of perception and attitude to information of learners, and takes into account the experience of educators of different countries using the wiki. The paper substantiates the necessity of creating favorable conditions for students working in the wiki-environments aimed at: intensification of the education process, development of communicative competence, self-study, practical application of skills in HTML-markup, satisfaction of personal needs and realization of the student as a personality. The article describes the experience of implementation of these conditions in students’ learning.
